2nd Annual International Drone Expo (IDE)
Organized by UAVSA (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Systems Association), The Tesla Foundation, and E.J. Krause & Associates, IDE is the official marketplace for all things drone.
IDE draws over 125 international exhibitors and 4,500+ buyers from around the world. The two day event will feature an exhibit floor displaying a variety of drones, parts, and services for commercial applications in cinematography, photography, real estate, emergency response, agriculture, oil & gas, mining, mapping and surveying, underwater exploration, and law enforcement, along with a host of other sectors for commercialists and consumers.
IDE is also the host of the leading commercial drone conference in the world. The high level business conference will bring together the leading experts in the drone industry, focusing on the latest rules and regulations, in-depth the challenges and solutions, case studies, as well as how drone technology can help facilitate business and improve bottom line performance.
We are just beginning a new era of aviation. The future is now and drones are here to stay! With more sophisticated sensors, enhanced digital technology, GPS and LIDAR systems, drones and other robotic vehicles are revolutionizing the way we live and do business. Drones became an economically feasible choice for business owners and prosumers ushering in the biggest gateway to aviation we have ever seen. Much like the internet boom, drones are changing our lives for the better. The commercial drone sector will continue to be a key growth factor in creating next generation technology.

Keith Kaplan CEO of the Tesla Foundation and the UAVSA met with members of the White House and FAA with Professor Raja Sengupa of UC Berkeley, former White House Counsel Lisa Ellman of McKenna, Long, and Aldridge, today to discuss the issues surrounding a “Drone Pilot’s License”, which would assure the ability for our Veterans that have been injured and US Citizen’s that because of physical limitations can’t get a pilot’s license to be employed in the new “Drone Economy”. To introduce the benefit of implementing air traffic control measures with SafeFlight Systems™, the software to manage drone traffic and could have prevented the “Lawn Crash”, and the issues regarding FAA rule making impeding commercial use of Drones.
The Tesla Foundation has created the Professional Drone Association the UAVSA (uavsa.org) to give a voice to the emerging Professional Drone Community in this process and foster the community in the spirit of collaboration and the open source tradition of the scientific and engineering community.

The Nikola Tesla Invention Series
Where there is Invention there’s prosperity. Invention has no race, no religious preference, no social or government election, it is just human creativity and the processes needed for its distribution and integration to serve mankind.
Tesla Foundation Group Center for Invention was established in 2010 to help all people and countries build prosperity by promoting creative thinking, invention development, support and processes. As an activation methodology to these important efforts, TFG has created a series of events celebrating invention and inventors.
At each event, TFG identifies inventions and inventors recognizing the manifestation of their thoughts and celebrating the life of an inventor who has through their work created systems, services and products to improve mankind. Each TFG series event brings together inventors and thinkers awarding one inventor with the prestigious Nikola Tesla Invention Award for their special unique and important contribution to mankind.
In addition to the Nikola Tesla awards ceremonies the event anchor will interview the Nikola Tesla Award honoree about his or her invention(s) and their human story of failure and success behind the scenes.
Each of the TFG series events are filmed and distributed free online to the general public, schools, universities and industry providing information for personal growth and education. All of the events will be subtitled in English and later TFG will add other languages. The videos will be available at teslafoundation.org and are released under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND license, so they may be freely shared by anyone on any other website or blog globally.
